State-Specific Resources
for Families
Finding resources to help NPD families on a state-by-state basis has always been a challenge. That challenge can be lessened through a resource called Family Voices. Family Voices is a national grassroots network that advocates for family-centered, community-based, comprehensive, coordinated, and culturally competent health care services for everyone with special health care needs. Family Voices promotes the inclusion of families as decision makers at all levels of health care and supports partnerships between families and professionals.
Visit their web site and link to fv in your state – select your state from the map, and find state-specific information about people and programs that may be available to you.
If you find services that are especially helpful or, on the contrary, that don’t meet your needs, please contact Cate Walsh-Vockley, NNPDF's Coordinator of Education, Referral, and Advocacy. Your feedback will help us better assist families affected by NPD, especially those with newly diagnosed children or those at transitional times in the life of their family.
